Lapidary

A couple of necklaces in our store –

First we have a Fancy Jasper strung with Freshwater Pearls, measuring 18″. The term “Fancy” Jasper is one given to a class of Jasper that is either un-named, or more often simply one that the rockhound who mined it can’t place a name to. Many rock people won’t admit it, but we don’t always know the name of the specimens we find. We can assure you it’s a Jasper or an Agate, because we do have ways of knowing that much … but sometimes that’s as far as our knowledge will take us.

But that doesn’t mean it isn’t pretty!

Next we have an Ocean Jasper, strung with Freshwater Pearls, measuring 18″. Ocean Jasper is one of my favorites, for the mix of greens, white and sometimes even pink. No two cuts will ever produce an identical stone, and the polish it takes is incredible.

But don’t take my word for it, have a look yourself!
